Dar Cheraiet Andalusian Courtyard
Enter the great portal of this hotel that blends perfectly with the yellow brickwork of the Fourteenth Century covered streets of the town. In the lobby you are greeted by traditionally groomed attendants and seated in an environment reminiscent of Ottoman Istanbul. You marvel at the harmony of the whole but are perpetually drawn in by the details: the cold shine of the tile work, the warm gilt and hand-woven satin on your chair, the turn of a leaf carved in stone.
Above you soars a huge indigo dome with gleaming carved decoration. As you pass the bar, you glimpse a play of rich red velvet, beautifully worked wood, and smooth marble.

Dar Cheraiet's Swimming Pool |
Cross the white marble floor of the Andalusian Courtyard, where bougainvillea sneaks up the columns up the of vaulted arches and the fountain plays in the night under a dome of real stars.
In addition to five-star facilities for fitness and bathing, Dar Cherait also has the largest collection of contemporary paintings on display in Tunisia. But perhaps the ultimate surprise is a faithful reproduction of a large Eighteenth Century house which houses an extensive collection of antiques.
